I work as senior data scientist at Unity Technologies
in Copenhagen, Denmark.
At Unity we believe that the world is a better place with more creators in it
, and that our technology can change the world. Our products give content creators the tools to not just entertain but to create innovative real-time 3D experiences and deliver better processes for almost every industry.
Prior to joining Unity, I was head of applied science at Corti
in Copenhagen. At Corti, we built intelligent machines
for augmented medicine. Notably we helped medical personnel make crucial decisions in cases of medical emergency
. Corti's AI works in real time, and it actually saves lives
Before Corti, I spent several years in academia, where I worked at six universities and held many (or almost all?) academic positions, from PhD student to associate professor with tenure.
I researched into applied machine learning, specifically natural language processing
), a field of artificial intelligence where we create machines capable of understanding human languages.
I focused mostly on syntactic and semantic parsing of natural language, with particular interest in cross-lingual learning
, and in processing low-resource languages
I still maintain a tie to academic research as an (external) assistant professor at the University of Split
in Croatia, which is also very close to my hometown
